About Ernie and Harry
 
This site isn't only about us, Ernie Roberts and Harry Roberts.  It's about our parents, Ernest Roberts, Sr. and Faye Mattison Roberts of  Mansfield, Ohio. It's about the entire Roberts family and the entire Mattison family.  We are descentants of free black people going back to about 1700 in Northampton county in North Carolina. And we are descendants of slaves, traceable so far only to 1813 in Anderson County, South Carolina. And it's about all the millions of African people who suffered the crossing and slavery and Jim Crow. Millions of people who suffered and strove and sacrificed to bring us, Ernie and Harry, to where we are now. It's a many-faceted story, which we hope will eventually be revealed on these pages.
